Untitled (Greece, 12 Jul 2004)

And the sun broke her
into fragments of salt
that goats clamboured to taste

And she melted into their tongues
and onto the earth
streaming down as quickly as the albatross
could fly above her

And as she cleared the cliff's edge
they flew side by side
the albatross chasing her shadow
into the Aegean.
