DJ Laureth has, for many years, been a pioneer in the electronic music world. In 1990 he put on a series of club nights 'Technomania', one of the early Techno parties in his home town of Cologne. This led him to DJing at other parties - and eventually to producing. In 1994 he had a track released on the new Polytox label which led him to his first outdoor party and the Psy Trance community, a night which changed his life! Later, for 18 months he co-hosted a weekly trance radio show that was broadcast by satellite across Europe, before going to work for the label and promotion group Sha Ka Ree in 1999. It was there he founded Tatsu Records, well-known for their unique style of deep, minimal psychedelic sounds with releases including the "Dragon Tales" compilations.
2001 saw him move to Hamburg and to a role with Spirit Zone as business and A & R Manager, and to oversee the development of their new sub-label, Plusquam. When Spirit Zone moved their headquarters to Ibiza in mid-2003, Laureth stayed and took over Plusquam Records as his own label. With releases from Double Dragon, Haldolium, Auricular, Timetech, Shaman, Bitmonx, Buzzmonx, Buzz and local lad FREq Plusquam has cemented its place as one of the world's leading psy/progressive labels.
Laureth is a regular at parties across the globe and has played at parties like Voov, Solipse, Love Parade and Fusion Festival - to name only a few. Catch him on his first visit to Australia where you'll hear the shape of the future.
